Olympus ME-15 Tie Clip Microphone

The Olympus ME-15 is a small, lightweight electrets condenser microphone that clips to a tie, collar or under clothing for discreet recording. It connects via a 3.5mm monaural mini-plug and draws power through the plug-in-power system. The non-directional capsule captures sound from all sides with a frequency response of 100 to 12,000Hz.

Check Recorder Compatibility Before Ordering

Verify that your recorder provides a 3.5mm microphone input with plug-in-power between 1.5V and 10V. The cable length is 1m (3.3 feet) and the microphone body measures 8.8 by 34.3mm. Olympus Pearlcorder microcassette recorders require the separate PA-1 plug adapter which is not included.

Suits Dictation and Interviews With Olympus

Ideal for professionals who need hands-free capture with Olympus digital voice recorders and want a clip-on form factor. Not suited for users needing stereo recording, directional pickup or a longer cable than 1m. Buyers whose recorder lacks plug-in-power or a 3.5mm mono jack should look at something else.

Questions about this item

What is included with the ME-15 and what extra adapter is needed for Pearlcorder recorders?

The box contains the ME-15 microphone and a tiepin-type clip. For Olympus Pearlcorder Microcassette recorders the PA-1 plug adapter must be purchased separately.

Which connector version does the ME-15 use?

The ME-15 terminates in a 3.5mm monaural mini-plug that draws plug-in power from the recorder.

How does the 100 to 12,000Hz frequency response affect voice capture?

The range covers the core speech band, so dialogue is recorded clearly while very low rumble and high sibilance are naturally rolled off.
