OmniTrade DR420 Drum Unit

This OmniTrade DR420 drum unit is a compatible replacement for Brother DR420, TN420 and TN450 cartridges. It fits a wide range of Brother laser printers including HL, DCP, MFC and FAX series models. The unit is sold new as a single pack for office or home printing.

Sustained output over 12,000 pages

The drum is rated for up to 12,000 pages at five percent coverage, supporting consistent print quality across long runs. ISO 9001 certification indicates controlled manufacturing processes for reliable page-to-page performance. It is designed to maintain toner adhesion and image clarity throughout the rated yield.

Mechanical limits of the drum interface

As a photoconductive drum, its lifespan is defined by the 12,000-page yield rather than by toner volume. Once the drum surface wears beyond this threshold, print defects such as streaks or fading will appear regardless of toner level. The unit must be replaced as a complete assembly when the printer signals end of life.

Questions about this item

Does the DR420 drum unit run hot or make extra noise during long print runs?

The drum is a passive imaging component; it adds no fan, motor or heater, so it does not change the printer’s noise or temperature profile.

What toner cartridge must I already have for this DR420 drum to work?

It is designed to pair with Brother TN420 or TN450 toner cartridges in the listed HL, DCP, MFC and FAX models.

Will the DR420 drum work reliably in an older HL-2130 that I still use?

Yes — the HL-2130 is explicitly listed among the compatible printers, so the drum will operate normally in that model.
