A carbide engraving tool with a 60-degree tip and 0.030-inch width for precise marking
The Onsrud 37-07 is a carbide engraving tool with a 0.030 inch tip and a 60 degree included angle. It is intended for machinists and hobbyists who need to cut narrow grooves or mark parts with precision. The single-flute, uncoated design suits manual or CNC engraving on metal, plastic or wood.
The cutting diameter is 0.0300 in, so the tool produces a very fine line suited to lettering, serial numbers or ornamental detail. A larger tip would widen the groove and reduce resolution; a smaller tip would be more fragile. Select this size only when the design calls for a 0.030 in feature width.
The tool has a 1/2 in shank that drops into common ER collets, end-mill holders or drill chucks without adapters. Carbide is brittle, so excessive run-out or heavy feed rates can snap the tip. Use light passes, adequate coolant and a rigid setup to avoid breakage.

The 0.030 in tip produces a fine line width suitable for detailed marking on metal or plastic.
