Product identity

The Onsrud 63-625 is a carbide angle, pitch and slope locator built for workshop measurement tasks. It serves machinists, fabricators and technicians who need a durable hand tool for checking angles and slopes on aluminium workpieces.

Material and design benefits

Solid carbide construction resists wear during repeated use on non-ferrous metals. The upcut spiral O-flute geometry clears chips efficiently while the tool is engaged in routing operations on aluminium stock.

Capacity and limits

The 3/8 inch cutter diameter suits small to medium profiling jobs where a single pass is practical. Larger diameters or deeper cavities will require multiple passes or a different tool altogether.

Questions about this item

How often will the carbide cutter need to be replaced under normal routing use?

The solid carbide construction resists wear during aluminium routing, so replacement depends on total cutting volume rather than a fixed schedule.

What limits continuous operation of the 3/8 inch up-cut spiral flute?

Chip evacuation capacity in deep aluminium cuts becomes the first constraint during sustained routing passes.

How much heat does the bit generate during all-day aluminium routing?

The up-cut spiral design pulls chips away from the cut, reducing friction and keeping the carbide tip cooler during extended runs.
