Dual USB-A and USB-C wired adapter

This ONTEN adapter adds a Gigabit RJ45 port to laptops, tablets or phones that have either a USB-A or USB-C socket. It suits mobile workers, students and anyone who needs a stable wired link when Wi-Fi is unreliable. The pine-green housing weighs 50 grams and ships with a 50 cm tethered cable.

Driver-free Gigabit RJ45 port

The single specification that decides fit is the plug-and-play Gigabit Ethernet port, which requires no driver installation on Windows, macOS, iOS or Android. If your device lacks a USB-A or USB-C port, or if you need multi-gigabit speeds, this adapter will not meet the requirement.

Simple plug-in with a fixed 50 cm cable

Installation takes seconds: connect the USB-A or USB-C end to the host and the RJ45 end to the network. The integrated 50 cm cable cannot be replaced, so users who need a longer reach or a right-angle connector will find the length limiting.

Questions about this item

What speed does the Gigabit RJ45 port actually deliver on a laptop?

The port runs at up to 1 Gbps, so large file transfers, 4K streaming and online gaming all move at wired gigabit rates instead of Wi-Fi speeds.

Which USB standard do the USB-A and USB-C connectors use, and does it limit the link?

The adapter is driver-free and works with the USB-A and USB-C ports on Windows, macOS, iOS and Android devices; the Gigabit Ethernet link runs at full line rate through either connector.

How much space does the 50 g adapter and its 50 cm cable need in a bag?

At 50 grams with a half-metre cable, it slips into a laptop sleeve or pocket without adding noticeable bulk.
