Questions about this item

What components of the EMD5000-02 will need replacement or maintenance over time?

The EMD5000-02 has no user-replaceable parts listed in the specifications. It connects via a serial port and CAT5 cable to an Opengear console server, so only those cables or the console server itself may need attention later.

What is the first limit reached when the EMD5000-02 monitors a rack continuously?

The device tracks temperature, humidity and up to two dry-contact sensors. The first limit encountered will be the user-defined warning or critical thresholds set for temperature, humidity or the contact inputs.

How much noise, heat or power does the EMD5000-02 generate when running all day?

The EMD5000-02 draws minimal power from the console server serial port, has no fan and produces no audible noise. Its heat output is negligible in a rack environment.
