25GBASE-SR SFP28 Transceiver

The Optdex SFP-25G-SR is a 25GBASE-SR SFP28 transceiver module operating at 850nm. It supports duplex LC multimode fibre connections up to 100m. The module includes digital optical monitoring and is compatible with Juniper Networks QFX-SFP-25G-SR equipment. It suits data-centre links requiring 25GbE short-reach connectivity.

Replaces lower-speed SFP+ modules

This transceiver upgrades existing 10GbE SFP+ links to 25GbE over the same multimode fibre plant. The jump is worthwhile when switch ports and cabling already support 25GBASE-SR and bandwidth demand exceeds 10GbE capacity. It does not suit single-mode fibre runs or reaches beyond 100m.

Questions about this item

Will the SFP28 module fit a standard SFP28 port on my switch?

Yes, it uses the industry-standard SFP28 form factor and duplex LC connector for direct insertion into compatible 25GBASE-SR ports.

What fibre type and length are required for the 100m link?

Use OM3 or OM4 duplex multimode fibre at 850nm; the 100m reach is guaranteed only with those cable grades.
