Opteka 28mm f/2.8 Manual Focus Prime

This manual focus prime lens mounts to Micro Four Thirds cameras and provides a 28mm focal length that delivers a 56mm equivalent field of view. It suits photographers who prefer direct control over focus and aperture for wide-angle subjects such as travel, portraits and candids.

9-Blade Aperture and HD Coating

The nine-blade diaphragm produces soft, rounded background blur that helps isolate subjects in wide-angle compositions. An HD anti-reflection coating on the six-element optical formula suppresses flare and ghosting to preserve contrast and colour fidelity across the aperture range.

Metal Barrel with Clickless Aperture Ring

The all-metal construction fits the 49mm filter thread and focuses manually from close distance to infinity. The clickless aperture ring allows smooth iris changes during shooting, though users must verify focus visually since the lens lacks autofocus and image stabilisation.

Questions about this item

Does the 49 mm filter thread need any special care or periodic replacement?

The 49 mm thread is a standard metal mount; keep it clean and use a protective filter to prevent damage, but no scheduled replacement is required.

What optical limit appears first when shooting wide open at f/2.8 for extended periods?

The six-element, five-group design with one super-low dispersion element controls chromatic and spherical aberration, so the practical limit is depth of field rather than optical degradation.

How much heat or noise does the all-metal barrel produce during all-day manual focus use?

The passive metal construction generates no electronic noise and only ambient warmth; handling comfort depends on environment, not the lens itself.
