What this lens does and who uses it

The Opteka 58mm .43x wide-angle converter attaches to the filter threads of a Canon EF-mount lens on an EOS DSLR. It expands the field of view for architecture, interiors and landscapes while the detachable macro element lets you shoot extreme close-ups of small subjects.

Build quality and daily handling

High-index, low-dispersion optical glass with fully multi-coated, anti-reflection surfaces reduces flare and ghosting in bright conditions. A titanium anodized finish resists wear, and the high-speed autofocus coupling remains active so the camera can still drive focus with the converter in place.

The specification that decides fit

The converter requires a 58 mm filter thread on the host lens and a Canon EF mount on the camera body; it will not work on lenses with a different thread size or on mirrorless RF-mount bodies without an adapter.
