100 metre copper limit and 1.6 Gbps backplane

Each copper port follows the 100 metre maximum for Cat5 or better UTP. The non-blocking fabric delivers 1.6 Gbps total bandwidth with a 768 KB store-and-forward buffer. Latency stays below 20 microseconds and the MAC table holds 1K entries.
