The Opticon OPN4000i-00 is a handheld 1D CCD barcode scanner built for cordless operation. It connects via mini USB or Bluetooth using SPP and HID profiles in a 1-to-1 link with authentication and encryption. An MFi chip enables direct support for Apple iDevices. The package includes the scanner, a USB cable and a neck strap in white.

Suits staff scanning linear codes at arm's length

This unit reads 1D symbols from 5 mil up to 39 mil with working ranges spanning 55 mm to 520 mm depending on code density. Pitch tolerance reaches ±50° and yaw tolerance ±65° for flexible aiming. The 600 mAh lithium-ion polymer cell delivers 25 hours of mixed scanning and Bluetooth use. Buyers who need 2D imaging or area-imager speed should look at a different class of scanner.

1 MB FlashROM plus 96 kB SRAM sets the data buffer

On-board memory totals 1 MB of FlashROM and 96 kB of SRAM under a proprietary 32-bit CISC processor running at 96 MHz. This capacity determines how many scans can be stored offline before a host connection is required. The scanner weighs 0.11 lb and measures 3.27 x 1.42 x 0.85 inches.
