Home Theater Projector 1080p 3500 Lumens

The Optoma HL31LV is a home theater projector with a native 1080p resolution and 3500 Lumens brightness. It uses an LED light source and provides two HDMI inputs plus a VGA port for video connections. This unit suits viewers who want a bright Full HD image in a living-room or media-room setting.

Connectivity Limits Two HDMI One VGA

The projector offers two HDMI ports and one VGA port as its only video interfaces. Devices that require DisplayPort, USB-C video or additional HDMI connections cannot be attached directly without adapters or a switch. Buyers who need more than two HDMI sources at once will find the built-in connectivity insufficient.

Native Resolution 1080p Fixed Panel

The single specification that decides fit is the fixed native 1080p panel. Content at 4K or higher is downscaled to 1080p, and lower-resolution signals are upscaled to the same grid. Buyers who want true 4K pixel density or a higher native resolution should look elsewhere.

Questions about this item

Should I pick the HL31LV for its 1080p native resolution or wait for a higher-spec model?

The HL31LV delivers a native 1080p image, so every pixel is drawn without scaling; choose it if Full HD detail matches your screen size and seating distance.

What does the 3500 Lumens rating actually look like on a living-room wall?

At 3500 Lumens the HL31LV produces a bright, colour-rich 1080p picture that remains watchable with some ambient light, though a darkened room still gives the best contrast.

Which sources can I plug into the HL31LV's two HDMI ports?

The two HDMI inputs accept any 1080p-capable device — streaming sticks, games consoles, Blu-ray players or laptops — and both support HDCP for protected content.
