Optoma SP.81218.001 replacement lamp

The Optoma SP.81218.001 is a 120W projector lamp module supplied with a new Philips UHP bulb pre-fitted in its housing. It is designed for owners of compatible Optoma projectors who need a direct replacement when the original lamp reaches its rated 4,000-hour life.

Pre-assembled module for quick fitting

The lamp arrives as a complete bulb-and-housing unit, so no separate bulb handling or alignment is required during installation. The main risk is forgetting to reset the projector's internal hour counter after fitting the new module, which can leave the replacement warning active even though the fresh lamp is operating correctly.

UHP lamp life and brightness limits

The 120W UHP bulb is rated for 4,000 hours of typical use, after which light output and colour stability will gradually decline. Because UHP technology generates significant heat, the projector's cooling system must remain unobstructed; restricted airflow can shorten actual lamp life well below the rated figure.

Questions about this item

How can I confirm the SP.81218.001 lamp is operating correctly after installation?

The projector should ignite the 120W UHP bulb without flickering, display a steady image at full brightness, and the lamp-hour counter will begin tracking toward the rated 4000 Hrs.

What comes in the box with the Optoma SP.81218.001 and what must I source separately?

The module arrives as a fully assembled Philips 120W bulb inside its housing, ready to install; no extra components are included, and no separate parts are required for fitting.

Which version of the SP.81218.001 should I choose among the OEM and compatible options?

All four versions — direct OEM, Optoma-sold OEM, alternative OEM and the compatible — use genuine OEM parts and meet ISO9001 quality checks, so any will deliver the specified 120W output and 4000 Hrs life.
