3500-lumen 4K UHD laser projector

The OPTOMA UHZ36 delivers native 3840 x 2160 resolution with 3500 ISO lumens and a 1000000:1 contrast ratio. Its DLP laser-phosphor light source is rated for 30000 hours in Eco mode. The unit produces image diagonals from 28 to 300 inches and suits living-room or dedicated-theatre setups.

Replaces lamp-based 1080p or 4K projectors

A lamp projector typically requires bulb changes every few thousand hours; the UHZ36 eliminates that maintenance with its 30000-hour laser. The brightness jump to 3500 lumens makes daytime viewing practical without blackout curtains. The upgrade is worth it when you want consistent output and HDR-capable contrast for years.

Fits standard throw distances

Throw ratio ranges from 1.21 to 1.59, covering 1000 mm to 8000 mm projection distances. Vertical refresh spans 25 to 120 Hz and horizontal refresh 15 to 255 KHz for broad source compatibility. Keystone correction of +/-30 degrees eases off-centre mounting, freeing shelf or ceiling space for speakers or seating.

Questions about this item

What throw distance and throw ratio does the UHZ36 need to fill a 100-inch screen?

The projector covers 1000 mm to 8000 mm throw distance with a 1.21 to 1.59 throw ratio, so a 100-inch image fits within that range.

How do you set up the UHZ36 and which step is often missed?

Place the unit, connect power and video, then use the +/-30° keystone correction to square the image; many forget to adjust keystone after moving the projector.

When will the laser light source need replacement on the UHZ36?

The laser phosphor source is rated for 30,000 hours in Eco mode, so replacement is not expected for years of typical home use.
