Laser 4K UHD projector for home cinema

The Optoma ZK451 is a DLP projector with a laser light source rated for 30000 hours in economy mode. It delivers a native 2160p resolution at 4500 lm brightness and a 2000000:1 contrast ratio. The 16:9 aspect ratio suits widescreen films and streaming content. Built-in speakers provide audio without external hardware.

Check room size and connectivity before purchase

Throw distance ranges from 39.37 in to 32.81 ft with a focal length of 20.91 mm to 32.62 mm, so measure your space to hit a 30 in to 25 ft diagonal image. Video input is HDMI only; network control uses RJ-45 and a USB port is present. Power draw is 178 W operating and 500 mW standby at 60 Hz.

Laser light source maintains output over long

The solid-state laser avoids the brightness decay typical of lamp projectors during extended viewing. Fan noise stays consistent because the light engine does not require high-voltage ignition cycles. Heat output is tied to the 178 W operating figure, so ventilation should match that sustained load. Economy mode stretches the 30000-hour rating across daily use.

The box contains the 4K UHD laser projector, an AC power cord, a remote control with two AAA batteries and a quick-start manual. An HDMI cable for video sources is not included.

The ZK451 is listed with a single 4K UHD specification — are there other resolution or brightness versions to choose from?

How does the 4500 lm brightness perform in a typical living room with some ambient light?

At 4500 lm the ZK451 delivers a bright 2160p image up to 25 ft diagonal even with moderate room lighting, while the 2,000,000:1 contrast ratio preserves shadow detail in darker scenes.
