throw WUXGA laser projector

The Optoma ZU607TST is a DLP home-theatre projector with a fixed short-throw lens. It produces a WUXGA image at 6000 lumens from a laser light source rated for 30000 hours. The 0.58:1 throw ratio lets installers place the unit close to the screen while still filling a 30 to 300 inch diagonal.

Sustained brightness and thermal behaviour

Because the laser engine maintains full output for the rated 30000 hours, brightness does not decay as it would with a lamp that ages over a few thousand hours. The projector accepts vertical refresh rates from 24 to 120 Hz and horizontal rates up to 140 kHz, so long gaming or cinema sessions run at native cadence without frame drops.

Build, connections and daily mounting

The black cabinet carries two HDMI 2.0 inputs, two VGA ports, one composite video input and HDBaseT 3.0 for long cable runs. Audio is handled by two 3.5 mm inputs and one 3.5 mm output. Horizontal and vertical keystone correction of ±15° each gives installers flexibility when the projector cannot be perfectly centred.

Questions about this item

How much heat and fan noise does the 6000-lumen laser produce during all-day use?

The 30,000-hour laser light source runs at full brightness without lamp replacements, so heat output stays consistent over long sessions.

Which sources and cables must I already own to connect to the two HDMI 2.0 ports and HDBaseT 3.0 input?

You need devices with HDMI 2.0 outputs or an HDBaseT 3.0 transmitter plus compatible cabling for runs up to 100 m.

Will my older 1080p media players and 4:3 laptops work with the WUXGA 0.58:1 short-throw lens?

Yes — the projector accepts 4:3, 16:9 and 16:10 signals at 24–120 Hz vertical refresh and scales them to the native WUXGA panel.
