Internal 12.7mm SATA Blu-ray Burner

This 12.7mm high internal drive connects via SATA and reads or writes Blu-ray, DVD and CD media. It fits laptops or slim devices that use the same height and interface. Buyers who need a 9.5mm or 9.0mm drive cannot use this unit.

Build and Daily Use

The black bezel and standard SATA connector allow a direct swap when the original mounting brackets are reused. A 4MB buffer supports sustained writes across all supported formats. Blu-ray playback and burning software is not included and must be obtained separately.

Upgrade Context

The drive replaces an existing 12.7mm SATA optical drive and adds BD-R writing at 6X plus BD-RE at 4X alongside DVD and CD speeds. The jump is worth it when the old unit lacks Blu-ray write capability or has failed.
