What This Utility Knife Does

The Oreck VOT-UK001-Model is a 2-in-1 retractable utility knife with a 6.69-inch metal and TPR handle. It offers a retractable lock mode and a safety retractable mode for cutting cardboard, carpet, foam, drywall, rope and similar materials. One-handed, ambidextrous operation suits both left- and right-handed users in home, warehouse or construction settings.

What To Check Before Buying

Confirm that a hand-powered, non-electric cutting tool matches the task you have in mind. The knife uses high-carbon steel blades that are not motorised, so it will not suit jobs requiring powered cutting or automated feed. Verify that the 1.5-metre drop-test rating aligns with the durability you expect for your work environment.

What The Bundled Blades Provide

The package includes four spare straight razor blades and two hook blades stored in the handle compartment. A tool-free quick-change mechanism lets you swap dull blades for fresh ones without extra equipment. Having both blade types on hand extends the range of materials you can tackle without pausing to source replacements.

Questions about this item

Does the Oreck VOT-UK001-Model utility knife include spare blades in the box or must they be purchased separately?

The knife ships with four spare razor blades and two hook blades stored inside the handle compartment, so no separate blade purchase is needed for immediate use.

Which blade type should I select for cutting cardboard versus carpet with this 2-in-1 knife?

Use the straight razor blades for clean cuts in cardboard, boxes and vinyl; switch to the hooked blades when slicing carpet, rope or thick foam for safer, controlled pulling cuts.

How does the 6.69 inch overall length affect control when making long cuts on drywall or large cartons?

The 6.69 inch aluminium-alloy handle gives a full-grip leverage point for steady pressure on long drywall scores, while the retractable slider locks the blade at a fixed depth to prevent over-cutting on big cartons.
