Portable 2.5-inch SATA enclosure

The Orico enclosure turns a single 2.5-inch SATA hard drive or SSD into external storage that connects through a USB-C port. It supports drives up to 6 TB and works with computers, televisions, the PlayStation 5 and phones without needing a separate power adapter. The pink plastic shell keeps the drive protected during transport.

Passive cooling and bus power

With no fan inside the case, heat dissipates through the plastic housing during normal operation, so the unit runs silently. Power is drawn entirely from the host USB-C connection, meaning there is no external brick to carry and no extra cable clutter on the desk. UASP and TRIM support help maintain consistent throughput and SSD health over time.

USB-C to USB-C cable included

The box supplies a USB-C to USB-C cable that lets you plug the enclosure into modern laptops, tablets or consoles straight away. A short user manual explains the tool-free drive installation steps. No additional software, drivers or mounting brackets are provided.

Questions about this item

How do I install a 2.5-inch SATA drive in this enclosure, and what step do people often miss?

Slide the drive into the SATA connector, secure the cover, then connect the USB-C cable to the host; the step often missed is enabling TRIM in the operating system so the SSD maintains performance.

What maintenance or replacement will this enclosure need over time?

The plastic shell and USB-C cable may wear from repeated insertion; no fan or power supply is inside, so there are no internal moving parts to service.

What limit appears first during sustained transfers?

The single SATA 6 Gbps link and the USB-C 5 Gbps interface cap continuous throughput, so the enclosure hits its bandwidth ceiling before any thermal throttle.
