2.5" SATA USB 3.0 Enclosure

The Orico enclosure houses a single 2.5 inch SATA hard drive or SSD and connects it to a host device through a USB 3.0 port. No external power adapter is required, making it a compact and portable storage expansion for computers, TVs, PS5 consoles and phones. It supports drives up to 6TB capacity.

Suits portable storage; not for multi-drive

This enclosure suits users who want to turn a spare 2.5 inch SATA drive into external storage for backups, media libraries or game libraries on the go. UASP and TRIM support help maintain SSD performance. Builders who need to install more than one drive at a time should look at a multi-bay solution instead.

Single-bay 6TB limit

The enclosure accepts one SATA drive with a maximum capacity of 6TB per bay. This capacity ceiling is the specification that determines whether your chosen drive will fit and be fully recognised by the enclosure.

Questions about this item

How do I install a 2.5" SATA drive into this pink enclosure without tools?

Slide the drive into the SATA connector, snap the cover shut, and connect the USB 3.0 cable to your computer — no screws or adapters are required.

What long-term care does the enclosure need since it has no fan?

Keep the plastic vents clear of dust and avoid stacking items on top so the drive stays cool during extended use.

At what point does the USB 3.0 link become the bottleneck during sustained transfers?

The USB 3.0 interface caps sustained throughput at 5 Gbps, so large sequential reads or writes will hit that ceiling before the SATA drive does.
