Portable RGB SSD for gaming setups

The Orico Genie RGB is a 2TB portable solid-state drive built around a USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C interface. It delivers sequential read speeds up to 1000MB/s and supports AURA SYNC lighting that can match other RGB components in a gamer-focused workstation.

Check host port and cable match

Maximum throughput requires a USB 3.2 Gen 2 10Gbps port on the host device; slower ports will reduce the 1000MB/s ceiling. The box includes a 0.3-metre dual-headed cable with both USB-C and USB-A plugs, so verify which connector your laptop, console or phone accepts before ordering.

Fits mobile and desktop workflows

A plastic shell with a zinc-alloy mid-frame protects the NAND flash from shocks during transport. The drive draws power directly from the host USB port, leaving wall outlets free, and works across Windows, macOS, Linux, Android and iPadOS without extra drivers.

Questions about this item

Does the drive ship with a cable or do I need to buy one separately?

A 0.3-metre two-in-one USB-C to USB-A and USB-C data cable is included in the box.

How do I decide between the different capacities this model offers?

The only capacity listed for this model is 2TB, so that is the single option to choose.

What does the 1000MB/s headline speed actually deliver when the drive is plugged into a laptop?

The 1000MB/s maximum read speed is reached only when the host port supports USB 3.2 Gen 2 at 10Gbps; slower ports will reduce the transfer rate.
