Portable NVMe storage for fast external workflows

The Orico M.2 NVMe enclosure turns a compatible internal SSD into a portable drive. It accepts single M-Key or B&M Key NVMe modules in 2230, 2242, 2260 and 2280 sizes. The USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 Type-C interface delivers up to 20 Gbps bandwidth for rapid file transfers and backups.

Sustained performance through active thermal

An all-aluminium chassis with CNC-cut fins and a wrap-around cooling vest conducts heat away from the drive during long write sessions. This design helps maintain consistent throughput without relying on a fan. The included 2-in-1 cable provides both USB-C to USB-A at 10 Gbps and USB-C to USB-C at 20 Gbps connections.

Rigid aluminium build with versatile cable options

The grey aluminium shell resists flex and protects the SSD in daily transport. A single bay holds one drive securely without tools. The bundled dual-head cable removes the need for separate adapters when switching between USB-A and USB-C host ports. Note that SATA and PCIe AHCI M.2 drives are not supported.

Questions about this item

How hot does the aluminum enclosure get when the NVMe SSD runs continuously at 20 Gbps?

The all-aluminum case and CNC-cut cooling vest wrap the drive to conduct heat away, keeping surface temperature low during sustained 2000 MB/s transfers.

Which host port and cable do I need to reach the 20 Gbps rating?

Use the supplied USB-C-to-C cable on a USB 3.2 Gen 2×2 port; the USB-C-to-A cable is limited to 10 Gbps.

Will my older laptop with a 10 Gbps USB-C port still work with this enclosure?

Yes, the enclosure negotiates down to 10 Gbps on a USB 3.2 Gen 2 port, giving up to 1000 MB/s with the same NVMe drive.
