Tool-free aluminum enclosure turns an M.2 NVMe SSD into a 10 Gbps USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-C drive with built-in thermal pad cooling
The Orico M2R2-G2 is an aluminium enclosure that turns a single M.2 NVMe solid-state drive into a portable USB-C device. It accepts M-key and B+M-key modules in 2230, 2242, 2260 and 2280 lengths and works with Windows, Mac and Linux without driver installation.
The enclosure connects through a USB 3.1 Gen2 Type-C port with a theoretical ceiling of 10Gbps. Real-world throughput will be lower because of protocol overhead, cable quality and the host controller, so the drive inside cannot saturate its native PCIe link.
Each bay supports drives up to 4TB, giving ample room for large media libraries or system images. The aluminium shell and internal thermal pad keep temperatures in check during sustained transfers, but the single-bay design means you cannot add a second drive for RAID or extra capacity.

Match the enclosure to the physical length printed on your NVMe stick — 2230, 2242, 2260 or 2280 are all supported.
It is the USB 3.1 Gen2 interface ceiling; actual throughput depends on the SSD and host controller, but the enclosure itself will not bottleneck below that mark.
The port runs USB 3.1 Gen2 at 10Gbps, so the enclosure caps at that bandwidth regardless of the NVMe drive's native PCIe speed.
