Magnetic iPhone 15 Pro SSD

The Orico Magnetic Portable SSD adds 512GB of external storage that snaps magnetically to the back of an iPhone 15 Pro or iPhone 15 Pro Max. It is built for creators who record 4K ProRes Log video directly to the drive and need fast offload speeds. The grey aluminium enclosure stays attached during handheld shooting.

Replaces cloud offload and internal limits

The drive replaces reliance on iCloud uploads or the phone’s fixed internal capacity when capturing large ProRes files. A jump to this SSD is worth it when you regularly fill the internal drive during a shoot and need immediate, local space without a cable. It supports transfer rates of 5Gbps, 10Gbps and 20Gbps for rapid ingest.

Check iPhone model and cable

Verify you own an iPhone 15 Pro or iPhone 15 Pro Max, as only those models can record ProRes to external storage. Ensure your workflow can use the USB-C connection and that the magnetic mount aligns with your case or bare phone. Other capacities from 128GB to 4TB exist if 512GB is too small or large.

Questions about this item

Does the magnetic back work with any phone case or only bare iPhone 15 Pro?

The built-in high-strength magnet is designed to hold directly to the iPhone 15 Pro or 15 Pro Max; a MagSafe-compatible case will also work, but thick or non-magnetic cases may weaken the grip.

What cable and port do I plug in to start recording ProRes video?

Connect the drive's USB-C port to the iPhone 15 Pro's USB-C port using a USB 3.2 Gen 2 (10 Gbps) or Gen 2x2 (20 Gbps) cable, then select the external drive in the Camera app before recording.

When the 512 GB fill up during a shoot, how do I clear space without a computer?

Use the Files app on the iPhone to move or delete clips directly from the drive, or offload to iCloud Photos; the SSD itself has no user-serviceable parts and requires no maintenance.
