Dual-bay SATA dock with offline clone

The Orico ORICO-DD28U3 is a dual-bay docking station for 2.5" and 3.5" SATA I, II and III hard drives or SSDs. It connects via USB 3.0 and supports UASP and TRIM for faster data handling. Each bay accepts up to 18 TB, giving a combined maximum of 36 TB. The unit is aimed at users who need quick, tool-free access to bare drives for backup, imaging or archiving.

Offline clone button and included cable

A dedicated clone button lets you duplicate a source drive to a target drive without a host computer; the target must be larger than the source. The package supplies a 12 V / 3 A power adapter and a 1 m USB 3.0 Type-A cable so the dock is ready to use immediately. No software installation is required on Windows, Mac, Linux, iPad OS or Android devices.

Plastic chassis with anti-slip pads and auto sleep

The black plastic enclosure features an arc-shaped profile and silicone anti-skid pads to keep drives stable on a desk. Drives slide in from the top for tool-free hot-swapping. An automatic sleep mode spins down idle drives after 10 minutes to reduce wear and power draw. The dock relies on passive cooling only, as no fan is fitted.

Questions about this item

Does the 12V/3A power adapter need periodic replacement?

The 12V/3A adapter is a standard external unit; it can be swapped if it ever fails, but no scheduled replacement interval is defined.

What limits the 5Gbps USB 3.0 link during long cloning sessions?

The USB 3.0 interface caps sustained throughput at 5Gbps, and the 10-minute auto-sleep timer may pause activity if drives are idle.

How hot or loud does the fanless dual-bay chassis get when both 18TB drives run all day?

With no fan, the plastic enclosure relies on passive airflow and the arc-shaped vents; drives may become warm but silent under continuous load.
