Single-port Quick Charge 3.0 wall charger

This Orico QTW-1U-US-BK charger delivers up to 18 W through one USB-A port supporting Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0. It suits owners of compatible Android phones such as the listed Nexus, Galaxy, HTC and Sony models who want faster recharging than a standard 5 W adapter provides. The 100-240 V input makes it usable worldwide with a suitable plug adapter.

Plug-in installation with included cable

Installation is simply plugging the unit into a mains socket and connecting the supplied 3.3 ft Android data cable. The compact black chassis uses fire-resistant PC+ABS rated to 750 °C and includes over-current, over-charging and short-circuit protection. The only common issue is that devices without Quick Charge 3.0 support will charge at standard USB speeds instead of the accelerated rates.

18 W maximum output across three voltage steps

The charger negotiates 3.6-6.5 V at 3 A, 6.5-9 V at 2 A, or 9-12 V at 1.5 A to reach its 18 W peak. An energy conversion rate of up to 85 % reduces heat. Buyers whose phones require higher wattage or USB Power Delivery should look elsewhere, as this model is limited to Quick Charge 3.0 and a single port.

Questions about this item

How do I know the 18W QC 3.0 output is active after plugging in?

The charger delivers 3.6-6.5V at 3A, 6.5-9V at 2A or 9-12V at 1.5A when a Quick Charge 3.0 device negotiates the higher voltage; a standard phone will draw 5V only.

What comes in the box and what must I provide?

The package includes the wall charger, a 3.3ft Android data cable, a user manual and a service card; you only need a compatible device and a wall outlet.

Which version of this charger should I choose for 100-240V travel use?

This single model QTW-1U-US-BK accepts 100-240V input and provides up to 18W via its one QC 3.0 port, so it covers worldwide voltage without a separate version.
