What this cable does

This Orico USB-C to USB-C cable delivers up to 100W of Power Delivery charging and 480Mbps data transfer. It suits laptops such as MacBook Pro and Air, tablets including iPad Pro, and consoles like Switch and PS5. Phones from Huawei and Samsung also charge at full supported speed. The 6.5 ft length gives reach across a desk or bedside table.

Behaviour under sustained load

The nylon-braided jacket resists kinking and abrasion during daily plugging and unplugging. Connectors are moulded for strain relief so the cable endures repeated 100W sessions without loosening. Data throughput remains at the rated 480Mbps during long file moves. Heat stays low because the conductors are sized for the declared power ceiling.

Installation and common issues

Plug either end into a USB-C port; the reversible design removes orientation guesswork. No driver or firmware step is required on any listed device. The only frequent problem is attempting 100W charging from a source or sink that does not support PD 100W, which falls back to a lower negotiated rate. Ensure both ends and the charger advertise 100W PD for maximum speed.

Questions about this item

Does the 100 W PD rating mean the cable gets hot when charging a laptop all day?

The cable is rated for 100 W Power Delivery, so it handles continuous laptop charging without overheating under normal use.

What ports must my devices have for this USB-C to USB-C cable to work?

Both devices need a USB-C port that supports Power Delivery charging and USB 2.0 data at 480 Mbps.

Will the 480 Mbps data speed limit file transfers if I keep using an older USB 2.0 hub?

The cable itself runs at USB 2.0 480 Mbps, so an older USB 2.0 hub will not reduce its speed further.
