3" x 2" Schedule 40 Reducing Bushing
The Orion reducing bushing connects a 3-inch pipe to a 2-inch pipe using a no-hub design. Made from blue polypropylene, it carries an ASTM D 2657 listing and is rated for 80 psi at temperatures from -20 to 160 degrees F. The outside diameter measures 3.5 inches.
No-hub installation with solvent cement
Slide the bushing onto the larger pipe and solvent-weld the smaller pipe into the reduced end; no mechanical couplings or gaskets are required. Ensure both pipe ends are clean, square and fully deburred before applying primer and cement. Insufficient cement coverage or misaligned joints are the most common causes of leaks on Schedule 40 polypropylene fittings.
Suits drainage and low-pressure fluid lines
This fitting is intended for gravity-flow drainage, venting or low-pressure fluid transfer where 80 psi and the stated temperature range are adequate. It is not suited for high-pressure water supply, compressed-air systems or applications that demand a hubbed or threaded connection.

Questions about this item
How can I verify the bushing is seated correctly after installation?
Confirm the 3.5 in outside diameter aligns flush with the 3 in pipe and the 2 in outlet accepts the downstream pipe without gaps; the no-hub joint should hold at 80 psi max pressure.
What comes in the box and what must I source separately?
The package contains the blue polypropylene reducing bushing only; no-hub couplings or clamps for the 3 in x 2 in connection are not included.
Which schedule and size combination should I select for a standard drainage line?
Choose the Schedule 40 blue bushing rated for 80 psi and a temperature range of -20 to 160 °F when the pipe sizes are 3 in to 2 in.
