Converts a motherboard USB 3.0 20-pin header to a USB 3.1 Type-E front-panel connector for up to 5 GBit/s
The ORVIX adapter converts a motherboard USB 3.0 20-pin header into a USB 3.1 Key-A Type-E front-panel connector. It lets a case USB 3.1 port run at up to 5 GBit/s even when the board lacks a native 3.1 header. The vertical plug fits directly into the existing header without extra cables or brackets. Builders with AM4 or 2066 platforms can add front-panel 3.1 support instantly.
The adapter inserts vertically into any standard USB 3.0 20-pin header and requires no tools, screws or additional power. Alignment is the only common issue; the keyed Type-E shroud prevents reversed insertion but can feel tight on crowded boards. Ensure the header pins are straight and the latch engages fully to avoid intermittent contact. No driver or BIOS change is needed for the passthrough to work.
Check that your motherboard has a free USB 3.0 20-pin header and that your chassis front panel uses a USB 3.1 Type-E plug. The adapter does not create a second header; it repurposes the existing one for a single 3.1 lane. If your case needs two Type-E ports or your board only offers USB 2.0 headers, this adapter will not solve the mismatch.

Plug a USB 3.1 front-panel device into the Type-E connector. The operating system should recognise it at USB 3.0 speeds, up to 5 GBit/s, showing the link is active.
The package contains only the vertical Key-A Type-E to 20-pin male adapter. No cables or brackets are included; your case must already have a USB 3.1 front-panel port with a Type-E plug.
Your motherboard must provide a USB 3.0 20-pin header that supplies two USB 3.0 lanes. The adapter converts that header to a USB 3.1 Type-E front-panel connection.
