Powerful halogen headlights for night drivers

These OSRAM Night Breaker Laser bulbs fit HB3 or 9005 sockets and deliver up to 150% more brightness than the minimum legal standard. The 3200 K colour temperature gives a whiter light than standard halogen units. They are designed for drivers who want maximum visibility from a direct replacement lamp.

Sustained output on long journeys

The laser-ablation technology maintains the claimed brightness increase over extended use rather than fading after a short burst. A beam length of up to 150 m stays consistent during continuous night driving. The 60 W power draw remains stable so the vehicle electrical system sees no unexpected load spikes.

Thermal behaviour and power draw

Operating at 12 V and 60 W per bulb, the lamps run at normal halogen temperatures without extra cooling requirements. The standard P20d base fits existing headlight housings without modification. Noise is not a factor with passive halogen technology.

Questions about this item

How much heat does the 60 W HB3 bulb generate during extended night driving?

Each bulb draws 60 W at 12 V; the halogen filament produces noticeable heat, so ensure the headlight housing and wiring are rated for that power level.

What headlight housing and electrical system does the P20d base require?

The bulbs fit HB3/9005 sockets with a P20d base and need a 12 V vehicle supply; no extra ballast or driver is required.

Will the 3200 K output match the colour of my existing halogen high beams?

The 3200 K colour temperature is typical for standard halogen, so the light will blend with older halogen bulbs already in the vehicle.
