Armored Fiber Patch Cable

This 100-meter duplex cable uses LC UPC connectors on both ends and a 9/125 µm single-mode fiber. The stainless-steel tube and PVC jacket protect the fibers in conduit, underground or outdoor runs where dust, moisture, oil, gas or rodents are present.

Single-Mode 9/125 µm Fiber

The fiber mode is the specification that determines compatibility; this cable only works with single-mode transceivers and links designed for 9/125 µm cores. Using it with multimode equipment will cause high loss or complete link failure.

Rugged Build with Defined Bend Limit

The armored jacket makes the cable heavier and stiffer than standard patch cords, so allow extra space in trays and conduits. Respect the minimum dynamic bending radius of 30D to avoid increased insertion loss above .3 dB or fiber damage during installation.

Questions about this item

What does 0.3 dB insertion loss mean for a live link?

It adds very little signal attenuation so the link budget is barely affected by the patch cable itself.

What does the LC UPC duplex interface limit in practice?

The LC UPC duplex connectors mate with standard LC ports and the 9/125 µm single-mode fiber carries both transmit and receive paths over one jacket.

What clearance does the armored jacket need to bend without damage?

The dynamic bend radius is 30 times the cable diameter so allow at least that radius when routing through conduit or trays.
