Otium U18 Bluetooth 5.3 in-ear headphones

The Otium U18 are wireless in-ear headphones built around Bluetooth 5.3 for a stable link to phones, tablets or laptops. Weighing 0.22 pounds, they sit inside the ear canal with silicone hooks that follow the ear curve. An IPX7 rating means they survive heavy sweat and rain during gym sessions or outdoor runs. They suit listeners who want cable-free sport audio without a neckband.

Battery life and wireless range

The built-in lithium-polymer cell delivers up to 6 hours of continuous playback per charge and 240 hours of standby time. A full recharge takes 1.5 hours over the USB connector. Bluetooth 5.3 maintains a reliable connection up to 30 feet from the source device, so the phone can stay in a locker or on a treadmill console. Users needing more than 6 hours of non-stop listening per session will need to recharge mid-day.

Build, fit and daily controls

Silicone ear hooks and an in-ear coupling create a seal that passively isolates sound and keeps the buds secure during vigorous movement. Physical buttons on the housing handle play, pause, track skip and call answering without touching the paired device. A built-in microphone with noise suppression keeps voice clear for calls. The buds show remaining battery status on the connected phone and give a low-battery voice prompt. Buyers who prefer touch controls or a charging case with extra top-ups should look elsewhere.
