Kit contents

The OtterBox 78-80220 kit pairs a 20W USB-C wall charger with a 3.28 ft Lightning cable. It is built for Apple devices that charge through a Lightning port. The charger accepts 100-240VAC input for worldwide use.

Charging capacity

The charger delivers 20W over USB Power Delivery 3.0 with 5V/3A and 9V/2.22A profiles. Compatible iPhone models can reach roughly 58 percent charge in 30 minutes. The cable supports 3A current and 480 Mbps data transfer.

Deciding specification

The kit only fits devices with a Lightning charging port. Buyers whose phones or tablets use USB-C for charging cannot use the included cable. The single USB-C port on the charger also prevents charging two devices at once.

Questions about this item

Will the 20W USB-C output work with my older iPhone that only supports 5V/1A charging?

Yes, the charger negotiates 5V/3A with legacy Apple devices, so it safely delivers the 5W your older iPhone requests while remaining within its 20W maximum.

How can I confirm the 20W fast charge is active after plugging in?

Compatible iPhone and iPad models display the fast-charge animation and reach roughly 58% battery in 30 minutes when the USB Power Delivery 3.0 handshake succeeds.

Does the kit include both the wall charger and the Lightning cable, or must I buy the cable separately?

The box contains the 20W USB-C wall charger with foldable prongs and a 3.28 ft MFi-certified Lightning to USB-C cable rated for 3A current and 480 Mbps data.
