What the adapter does

The ottocast Play2Video adds wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto to vehicles that already have factory wired CarPlay. It plugs into the car USB port and works with iPhone iOS 10 and Android 11 or newer across a wide range of brands from Ford to Porsche.

Built-in streaming apps

The adapter includes YouTube and Netflix apps so passengers can watch video on the car display without extra hardware. No other apps can be downloaded, and the feature only functions when the vehicle is parked or stationary.

Installation and common issues

Setup is a simple plug-and-play connection to the factory USB port with automatic phone recognition. The adapter only fits cars built between 2016 and 2023 that shipped with wired CarPlay; vehicles without that factory feature or outside those model years will not work.
