16 GB DDR3 ECC registered DIMM running at 1333 MHz for Supermicro 7036A and 7046A workstations
Capacity 16GB
This 16GB DDR3 1333 PC3-10600 CL9 registered module is built for Supermicro SuperWorkstation 7036A and 7046A series systems. It delivers ECC error correction and registered buffering for stable operation in workstation, server, NAS and router environments. The single DIMM uses a 2Rx4 organisation and runs at 1.5V without a heat spreader.
Standard DDR3 voltage of 1.5V keeps power draw low and heat output minimal in normal use. No heat spreader is fitted, so airflow through the chassis handles cooling silently. Registered buffering reduces electrical load on the memory controller, contributing to steady thermals under sustained workloads.
Replaces Supermicro part MEMDR316LSL05ER13 to extend the life of existing infrastructure or add capacity affordably. The jump is worth it when ECC registered memory is required and unbuffered modules cannot be used. Buyers needing unbuffered DDR3 or a different form factor cannot use this module.

Other versions of this model
Power down the workstation, open the chassis, align the module notch with the DDR3 slot key, press firmly until both retention clips click, then verify in BIOS that ECC registered mode is active; the step often missed is confirming the BIOS reports ECC registered rather than unbuffered operation.
No scheduled maintenance is required; the module either continues operating or develops correctable errors that ECC logs, at which point replacement is the only action needed.
The memory controller's maximum supported capacity per channel is reached before thermal or bandwidth limits become a factor.
