16 GB DDR4 ECC SODIMM at 2666 MHz CL19, 1.2 V, validated for Synology FS1018 NAS
This 16GB DDR4 ECC SODIMM is built specifically for the Synology Flashstation FS1018. It adds capacity to the NAS so the system can hold more data in memory at once. The module is unbuffered and follows JEDEC PC4-21300 timing at CL19. It targets administrators who need a straightforward capacity increase for that platform.
The stick runs at the standard 1.2V DDR4 voltage and has no heat spreader. Power draw stays within the normal range for a 2666MHz ECC SODIMM. No active cooling is required and the module adds no audible noise. It is rated for continuous operation inside the FS1018 chassis.
The package contains only the single 16GB module; no tools, cables or software are included. Installation is a manual DIMM swap that does not void the NAS warranty. Backward compatibility with 2400MHz and 2133MHz systems means the same stick can be used if the platform is moved to a slower bus.

Power off the NAS and unplug it. Open the chassis, locate the 260-pin DDR4 SODIMM slot, align the notch on the module, insert at an angle, then press down firmly until both side clips click. The step often missed is verifying the module is fully seated by checking both clips are locked.
No routine maintenance is required for this DDR4 SODIMM. It has no heat spreader or moving parts. Replacement is only needed if a memory error appears in DSM logs or the NAS fails to boot, which is rare for JEDEC-compliant ECC modules tested for the FS1018.
The primary limit is the single 16GB capacity ceiling. Under sustained heavy workloads, the FS1018 will exhaust available RAM before the 2666MHz CL19 speed or 1.2V thermal envelope becomes a bottleneck, triggering swap to slower storage.
