OWC 256GB DDR4 LRDIMM for Servers
This module delivers 256GB of DDR4 memory in a single 288-pin ECC load-reduced DIMM. It is designed for servers, workstations and NAS systems that require high-density registered memory. The part operates at 1.2V and carries a CL22 latency rating. It will not work in standard desktop computers or alongside unbuffered or registered ECC modules.
Sustained Load Behaviour
Load-reduced architecture reduces electrical loading on the memory bus, allowing the platform to maintain stability when all slots are populated at 3200MHz. ECC circuitry corrects single-bit errors in real time, preventing data corruption during long compute runs. The module is tested to meet JEDEC specifications for continuous operation in multi-socket environments.
DDR4 Interface Limits
The DIMM conforms to the PC4-25600 standard and supports backward operation at 2133MHz, 2400MHz, 2666MHz and 2933MHz. Maximum throughput is defined by the DDR4 3200MT/s signalling rate and the 8Rx4 organisation. Capacity per module is fixed at 256GB; total system memory depends on the number of slots the host platform provides.

Questions about this item
How much power does a single 256GB DDR4 3200 CL22 LRDIMM draw at 1.2V during continuous server operation?
Each module runs at 1.2V, the standard DDR4 voltage, keeping power draw low even when the server runs all day.
What motherboard slot and chipset support are required to install this 288-pin ECC load-reduced DIMM?
You need a server or workstation board with 288-pin DDR4 slots that accept LRDIMMs, such as the Gigabyte R152-Z30, R152-Z31, R152-Z32, R152-Z33 or R162-Z10.
Can this 3200MHz CL22 LRDIMM run alongside existing 2666MHz ECC registered DIMMs in the same Gigabyte R152-Z30 system?
No, load-reduced DIMMs cannot be mixed with unbuffered or ECC registered memory; all slots must use the same LRDIMM type.
