Targeted server upgrade

This 128GB kit contains two 64GB DDR4 3200 CL22 ECC registered RDIMMs built for Cisco UCS B200 M6 C125 M5 C220 M6 C240 M6 and C245 M6 systems. It runs at 1.2V with 2Rx4 organisation and 288-pin form factor. The modules replace Cisco part numbers UCSMRX64G2RW UCS-MR-X64G2RW-M and UCSXMRX64G2RW. It will not work in standard desktop computers and cannot be mixed with unbuffered or load-reduced memory.

Thermals noise and power

Operating at the standard 1.2V DDR4 voltage the registered design keeps electrical load low on the server memory controller. No heat spreaders are fitted so airflow through the chassis handles cooling without extra fan speed. The ECC function corrects single-bit errors without adding measurable latency or power draw in normal operation.

What the kit changes

Installing matched 64GB modules populates two slots with identical capacity speed and rank for optimal channel balance. The registered buffer improves signal integrity on heavily populated boards while ECC protects data integrity in virtualisation and database workloads. OWC tests every module in-house and backs the kit with a limited lifetime warranty and free technical support.

Questions about this item

How do I install the 288-pin DDR4 RDIMMs in a Cisco UCS B200 M6 and what step is often missed?

Power down the server, open the chassis, align each 64 GB module with the keyed slot and press firmly until the ejector tabs click; the step often missed is seating both modules in the correct channel pair so the memory controller recognises the full 128 GB at 3200 MT/s.

What maintenance or replacement will the 2Rx4 registered ECC modules need over time?

The modules have no moving parts or heat spreaders, so routine maintenance is limited to keeping the server air filters clean; replacement is only required if a module fails ECC correction or a firmware update changes the qualified vendor list.

What limit appears first when the 1.2 V CL22 kit runs sustained workloads in a Cisco UCS C240 M6?

The CAS 22 latency at 3200 MT/s sets the bandwidth ceiling; under continuous load the memory controller will hit timing constraints before the 1.2 V thermal envelope becomes a bottleneck.
