An 8 GB DDR3L ECC registered DIMM running at 1066 MHz with CL7 latency for servers and workstations
Capacity 8GB
Rank 2Rx4
This OWC module is an 8GB DDR3L 1066 PC3L-8500 CL7 2Rx4 240-pin 1.35V ECC Registered DIMM built for select workstations or servers. It follows JEDEC and RoHS standards and carries a limited lifetime warranty with free technical support. The single stick installs in 240-pin DDR3L slots that require registered ECC memory.
It suits administrators upgrading older DDR3L server or workstation boards that explicitly call for registered ECC modules at 1066 MT/s. It will not work in standard desktop computers or consumer laptops that accept only unbuffered non-ECC memory. Builders needing unbuffered ECC or higher-speed DDR3L should look elsewhere.
The 8GB density handles typical virtualisation hosts, file-serving workloads and legacy database instances that fit within a single DIMM per channel. Headroom disappears when applications demand more than 8GB per slot or require speeds above 1066 MT/s, at which point a platform change becomes necessary.
Measured against everything we stock in ECC Server RAM, at today’s prices. Recalculated every night.

Other versions of this model
Yes, this is a 240-pin DDR3L ECC Registered DIMM, so the motherboard must provide DDR3L slots that accept registered memory.
No, registered memory cannot be mixed with unbuffered modules; all installed DIMMs must be ECC Registered for the system to operate correctly.
Check the BIOS or a system information utility; it should report 1066 MHz speed, CL7 latency, 1.35 V voltage and ECC Registered operation.
