Scale and subject

This 1/72 scale diecast model depicts the Hawker Typhoon Mk.IB fighter-bomber coded MP126, flown by No. 247 Squadron at RAF Eindhoven in 1944. It is made from diecast metal with plastic parts and arrives in the manufacturer's original unopened packaging.

Display characteristics

The model features realistic panel lines, antennas, access panels and surface details for an authentic representation. It has no openings and includes a display stand, presenting a detailed exterior with a heavy, realistic feel suited to shelf display.

Collecting context

This release upgrades earlier, less detailed Typhoon replicas by adding accurate squadron markings and true-to-scale proportions. Collectors seeking a ready-made, historically specific RAF aircraft for a 1/72 lineup will find the jump worthwhile; builders who want opening panels or motorised features should look elsewhere.

Questions about this item

Does the 1/72 scale Hawker Typhoon generate any noise or heat when displayed all day?

No — it is a static diecast model with no moving parts or power source, so it produces no noise or heat.

What extra items are needed to display the 1/72 Typhoon MP126 straight from the box?

Nothing extra; the model includes its own display stand and ships in the manufacturer's original unopened packaging.

Will the 7-inch wingspan Typhoon fit on a shelf with older 1/72 aircraft?

Yes — at 1/72 scale and a 7-inch wingspan it matches the standard size used by other 1/72 diecast models.
