Scale and subject

This 1/72 scale diecast model reproduces the Polikarpov I-16 Type 10 fighter in the markings of the Xin-Jiang Yi-li Aviation School, Republic of China Air Force. It is made from diecast metal with plastic parts for a heavy, realistic feel. The model arrives in the manufacturer's original unopened packaging.

Display and detail

The aircraft features realistic panel lines, antennas, access panels and surface details for an authentic representation. It has no moving parts or openings, presenting a clean exterior suited to shelf display. A dedicated stand is included so the model can be shown in a flying attitude immediately.

Collecting context

This release upgrades a collection that lacks a pre-World War II Soviet fighter in Chinese service colours. The jump is worthwhile for enthusiasts focused on early monoplane development or the Spanish Civil War era. Buyers needing a model with retractable gear or cockpit access will not find those features here.

Questions about this item

Does the 1/72 scale Polikarpov I-16 generate any noise, heat or power draw when displayed all day?

Nothing extra is required; the model comes with its own display stand and arrives in the manufacturer's original unopened packaging ready to place on any flat surface.

Will the 1/72 scale Oxford Diecast I-16 look consistent alongside older 1/72 diecast aircraft I already keep?

Yes, it is built to true 1/72 scale with detailed panel lines, antennas and surface details, so it matches the proportions and finish of other 1/72 diecast models in a collection.
