Scale and purpose

This 1/148 scale diecast Volkswagen T2 Van in Senegal Red is a compact display model built for adult collectors and hobby enthusiasts. The officially licensed replica arrives in a sealed box with a plastic showcase for immediate shelf presentation.

What it replaces

It upgrades from generic toy vans that lack licensed detailing or accurate proportions at this scale. The jump is worthwhile when you want a miniature that matches N-gauge layouts or a curated brand-specific collection without moving to larger, pricier scales.

Installation and pitfalls

No assembly is required; the model sits in its showcase straight from the packaging. The sealed construction means doors and panels do not open, so buyers who want functional parts should look elsewhere. Handle the diecast body carefully to avoid bending the few plastic trim pieces.

Questions about this item

Will the 1.125-inch long model fit in a standard N-scale display case?

At 1.125 inches long in 1/148 scale, the Volkswagen T2 Van matches standard N-gauge dimensions and fits typical display cases designed for this scale.

How do I remove the model from the plastic display showcase without damaging the diecast body?

The showcase opens from the base; lift the clear cover vertically rather than sliding it to avoid stressing the plastic parts on the detailed exterior.

Will the Senegal Red paint on the diecast metal fade if kept in the showcase long term?

The officially licensed finish is applied to the diecast body inside a sealed showcase, which limits UV exposure and helps preserve the red colour over time.
