Manual Chain Hoist for 500 lb lifting

This manual chain hoist from Oz Lifting Products handles loads up to 500 lb with a 20 ft grade 80 chain. It is built for traffic and parking lot applications where a powered lift is not available. The steel body and Weston-style brake provide controlled lowering. A swivel hook with safety latch keeps the load secure during use.

Practical limits of the manual chain interface

The hoist raises a load a maximum of 10 ft per pull cycle. Headroom of 10 3/16 in is required above the beam for installation. Hook mounting means no trolley travel is possible along the beam. Chain grade 80 sets the working load limit for the supplied chain.

Check your setup before ordering

Verify the beam flange width suits a hook-mounted unit with no trolley. Confirm 10 3/16 in of clear headroom exists at the mounting point. Ensure the 10 ft maximum lift height covers the required travel distance. The 500 lb capacity must exceed the heaviest load you plan to move.

Questions about this item

Should I choose the 20 ft chain or a shorter length?

The 20 ft chain provides the full 10 ft maximum lifting length specified for this hoist.

What does the 500 lb capacity mean when I am actually lifting?

It is the maximum rated load the Weston style brake and Grade 80 chain are designed to hold safely.

How does the hook mount affect where I can use it?

The hook mount attaches directly to a beam or anchor without a trolley, limiting movement to vertical lifts only.
