What this cutter does

The Pacific Handy Cutter S7 is a pocket-sized safety cutter built for general-purpose cutting tasks. Its self-retracting blade pulls back automatically when pressure is released, reducing the chance of accidental cuts during repetitive work.

The spec that matters most

The blade projects exactly 1/2 in and uses a safety-point edge, so it slices packaging, tape or strapping without piercing deeper material. A quick-change mechanism lets you swap dull blades without tools, keeping downtime short on a busy shift.

Install and common issues

No installation is required; the cutter arrives ready to use and fits in a pocket or tool belt. The only frequent issue is forgetting to engage the retracting spring after a blade change, which leaves the point exposed until the mechanism is reset.

Questions about this item

What does the 1/2 in blade projection mean when I am cutting?

The blade extends 1/2 in beyond the guard, limiting cut depth and reducing the chance of accidental deep cuts in general-purpose tasks.

How does the self-retracting mechanism work in practice?

The blade retracts automatically when you release the slider, so it is shielded the moment cutting pressure stops.

What does the quick-change method need for a blade swap?

No tools are required; the old blade releases and the new one locks in by hand.
