24 Assorted Square Pastels

This set contains 24 square artist pastels in assorted colours. Each stick measures 2.40 inches long by 0.40 inches square. They are intended for students and artists who need a portable range of hues for classroom or studio work.

Pigment limits on non‑porous surfaces

The pastels rely on dry pigment and calcium carbonate binder, so they adhere best to paper or textured boards. On glossy or sealed surfaces the colour will not grip and can be wiped away. Fixative is required to prevent smudging after the drawing is finished.

Square sticks resist rolling

The 0.40 inch square profile stops the pastels from rolling off tilted desks or easels. Sharp edges allow fine lines while the flat sides cover broad areas quickly. The sturdy formulation reduces crumbling during heavy pressure, keeping the workspace cleaner.

Questions about this item

Should I choose the 24-pack or are there smaller sets?

The AC9750 is sold as a single 24-piece set with assorted colours, each stick measuring 2.40" x .40" x .40".

What does the .4-inch length mean when I am drawing?

At .4 inches square, the sticks feel like chunky chalk and give broad, velvety strokes straight from the box.

Are these pastels compatible with standard fixatives and paper?

Yes, the high-pigment European formula works with any pastel paper and accepts normal workable fixative.
