Server power supply for HP ProLiant 380 G6 and G7

This 750 W unit replaces the DPS-750RB A PSU in supported HP ProLiant 380 G6 and G7 servers. It delivers a maximum output of 750 W from a metal enclosure finished in silver. The supply is sold new as a single unit for direct installation.

Suits administrators maintaining 380 G6 or G7 racks

The form factor and connector layout match the original HP DPS-750RB A specification, so it fits the target chassis without modification. Builders working with other server models or desktop platforms should look elsewhere because the pinout and mounting points are specific to the 380 G6 and G7 family.

Steady 750 W delivery under continuous load

The metal shell acts as a heatsink and the internal fan maintains airflow during prolonged operation at rated capacity. Voltage rails remain stable when the server runs at full utilisation for extended periods, avoiding the throttling that can occur with lighter-duty units.

Questions about this item

Which HP ProLiant models accept this 750W power supply?

This unit is built for the HP 380 G6 and G7 servers and matches the DPS-750RB A form factor used in those chassis.

Can I run this supply in a mixed bay with an older PSU still installed?

The DPS-750RB A design supports hot-plug redundancy, so a second supply of the same rating can share the load while the older unit remains seated.

What front-panel indication confirms the 750W supply is delivering power?

A green LED on the supply face lights when the unit is seated, receiving AC, and outputting voltage to the 380 backplane.
