Professional Shoulder-Mount Camcorder

The Panasonic AG-AC7 is a shoulder-mount AVCHD camcorder designed for event, wedding and news videographers who need stable, hand-held operation over long shooting days. Its large grip, top-mounted zoom lever and wide manual focus ring give direct tactile control while the camera rests on the shoulder.

Upgrade from Handheld Consumer Models

The shoulder form factor replaces compact handheld camcorders when balance, endurance and manual precision matter more than minimal size. The jump is worth it for operators who regularly shoot multi-hour assignments and need the steadier footage that shoulder mounting provides.

Suits Mobile Event and Documentary Crews

Videographers covering live events, ceremonies or run-and-gun documentary work benefit from the long-life battery, selectable AVCHD bit-rates and 23x Intelligent Zoom with a 35.8 mm wide end. Buyers who want more storage than the bundled 16 GB card or who need 4K resolution should look at something else.

Questions about this item

What shoulder-mount dimensions or tripod thread does the AG-AC7 need for rig mounting?

The AG-AC7 uses a professional shoulder-mount design with a large hand grip and top-mounted zoom lever for balanced, low-angle shooting; its base accepts standard tripod plates for rig attachment.

How do I insert the bundled 16 GB SDHC card so the camcorder records AVCHD without errors?

Open the card slot cover, insert the 16 GB SDHC card label-side up until it clicks, close the cover, then select an AVCHD mode such as 17 Mb/s HA at 1920 x 1080 or 4.5 Mb/s SX at 720 x 480 before recording.

When should I replace the included long-life battery to maintain full-day shooting?

Replace the battery when its run-time drops noticeably below a full day of shoulder-mounted event, wedding or news shooting, as the AG-AC7's low power draw is designed for extended operation on a single charge.
