Panasonic Leica DG Summilux 25mm f/1.4

This Panasonic Leica DG Summilux lens is a 25mm f/1.4 prime for Micro Four Thirds cameras. It belongs to the Lumix G series and uses aspherical elements. The mount fits Panasonic bodies and other Micro Four Thirds systems. Autofocus and manual focus are both available.

Best for low-light and shallow depth of field

The wide f/1.4 aperture suits photographers who need fast shutter speeds in dim light or want strong background separation. The fixed 25mm focal length gives a natural perspective on Micro Four Thirds. Buyers who need zoom flexibility or a different angle of view should look at other lenses.

Fixed 25mm focal length decides fit

The single specification that determines whether this is the right part is the 25mm fixed focal length. It cannot change its field of view, so it matches only workflows that accept a single prime perspective. Verify that this focal length matches your creative needs before purchase.

Questions about this item

How do I mount the Panasonic Leica DG Summilux 25mm f/1.4 on my Micro Four Thirds body and which step is most often missed?

Align the lens mount index with the camera body index, twist until it clicks, then set the aperture ring to the A position so the camera can control the f/1.4 maximum aperture electronically.

What maintenance or replacement will the Panasonic Leica DG Summilux 25mm f/1.4 ASPH need over time?

The aspherical glass elements and autofocus motor are sealed; only the front and rear caps, the optional filter threads and the lens hood may need replacement if lost or damaged.

What is the first limit I will hit when shooting continuously wide open at f/1.4 with this 25mm prime?

The fixed f/1.4 maximum aperture means depth of field stays extremely shallow, so accurate focus on moving subjects becomes the practical limit before any optical or thermal constraint appears.
