What This Lens Is For

The Panasonic Lumix G Leica DG Vario-Summilux 10-25mm f/1.7 is a Micro Four Thirds zoom lens that maintains a constant f/1.7 aperture across its 20-50mm equivalent range. It uses 17 elements in 12 groups, including aspherical and ED glass, to meet Leica optical standards. The kit adds a 77mm filter set, cleaning supplies, a tether, and Pinnacle Studio 22 Ultimate plus PhotoMirage software for a complete shooting package.

Who It Suits And Who It Does Not

Photographers and videographers who need a fast, weather-sealed zoom for low-light events, environmental portraits, or run-and-gun video will benefit from the silent inner focus and de-clicked aperture ring. Buyers who require focal lengths wider than 10mm or longer than 25mm on Micro Four Thirds, or who need optical image stabilisation built into the lens, should consider other options.

The Deciding Specification

The constant f/1.7 maximum aperture throughout the entire 10-25mm zoom range is the single specification that determines whether this lens fits the user's creative and technical requirements for depth-of-field control and low-light exposure consistency.
