Panasonic Lumix G Vario 12-60mm f/3.5-5.6 ASPH. POWER O.I.S. White Box camera lens

Compact travel zoom for Micro Four Thirds

The Panasonic Lumix G Vario 12-60mm f/3.5-5.6 ASPH. POWER O.I.S. is a zoom lens built for Micro Four Thirds mirrorless cameras. It covers a 24-120mm equivalent focal range from wide-angle to telephoto. The variable aperture runs from f/3.5 to f/22 across the zoom. This lens suits photographers who want one lightweight optic for everyday travel and walkaround shooting.

Optical design and stabilisation change image

Three aspherical elements and one extra-low dispersion element reduce spherical and chromatic aberrations throughout the zoom range. The POWER Optical Image Stabilization system compensates for camera shake during handheld use. It also works with Dual I.S. compatible camera bodies for combined stabilisation. A rounded 7-blade diaphragm produces smoother background blur when stopping down.

Micro Four Thirds mount limits sensor coverage

The lens projects an image circle matched to the Micro Four Thirds format, so it cannot cover larger sensors. The 12-60mm focal length tops out at a 120mm equivalent field of view, which may not reach distant wildlife or sports action. Maximum aperture narrows to f/5.6 at the long end, restricting low-light handheld performance. Splash- and dust-proof construction helps in harsh environments but does not guarantee full waterproofing.
